4. Dr. David Lacey is the senior development and service director of the R&D department of Osram Optoelectronic Semiconductor (Malaysia) Co., Ltd. in Penang under Ames Osram Group.
He has worked in Ames Osram Semiconductor for more than 20 years, and currently works in Malaysia. Previously, he was transferred from the German headquarters to the United States.
Dr. Lacey joined the company at the turn of the century, started his journey of organic light, and launched a new research and development center in San Jose. Later, he was transferred to Penang to further clarify the process and equipment specifications, so as to improve the manufacturing volume of OLED in Asia. After being promoted to the position of General Manager, he turned his unit into a completely independent department, helping the Malaysian factory achieve a major milestone in product development and research and development.
Later, Dr. Lacey began to take charge of the global profit and loss of OLED displays and supervise their marketing, sales support and production development. In 2007, he led his team to develop and launch Osram "Golden Dragon" high reliability LED for street and industrial solid-state lighting applications, promoting the early research and development of LED in Asia. As the current regional research and innovation director of Osram Optoelectronic Semiconductor (Malaysia), Dr. Lacey supports the development of organic and inorganic lighting solutions and their processes. Dr. Lacey's professional background makes him pay special attention to research and development.
Dr. Lacey was a member of the National Science and Research Council of Malaysia, and is currently a director of the CREST Committee. CREST takes the lead in carrying out cooperation and dialogue between industrialists and the Malaysian government, aiming to vigorously promote the creation of the most advanced local manufacturing ecosystem through industry university government cooperation. Dr. Lacey has played a key role in accelerating the cooperation between industry and university in research and development. He was appointed chairman of the "GaNonGaN" project supervision committee in Malaysia. The project has been supported by four universities, many government agencies and industrial enterprises, helping Malaysia to successfully reach the forefront of developing efficient white LED, ultraviolet LED and other future market applications.
5. Mr. Ruan Tuansheng, who has worked in Vietnam Shuguang Bulb Insulator Co., Ltd. since 1981, is the general manager of Shuguang Company and the manager of Lighting Research and Development Center.
He is currently the executive vice chairman of Vietnam Lighting Association (VLA), the chairman of Vietnam Energy Efficiency Association, and the executive member of Hanoi Science and Technology Association Alliance; Standing member of Vietnam Association of Automation (VAA), member of National Science and Technology Development Fund Management Committee (NAFOSTED) from 2014 to 2018, and member of Encyclopedia University Innovation Fund Management Committee (BK Fund).
During more than 40 years of work, he has made important contributions to promoting the development of efficient, energy-saving and environment-friendly lighting technology in Vietnam, especially in the process of successful transformation of Dawning's products from incandescent lamps and gas discharge lamps (traditional lighting) to SSL-LED solid lighting new technology and current LED intelligent lighting systems and solutions (smart homes, smart cities, smart farms).
In 2017, within the framework of the project "Development and Promotion of LED Technology for General Lighting in Vietnam" sponsored by the High tech Development Center of the Vietnamese Academy of Sciences, he published the report "Suggestions on the Roadmap for the Development of LED Lighting Industry to 2025". The report has been highly praised and contributed to the planning of Vietnam's LED lighting development.
Mr. Nguyen Tuen Seng enjoys a high reputation in the lighting field in Vietnam. He is an active promoter of discipline and cross industry cooperation at home and abroad. He has established cooperative relationships with more than 45 domestic and foreign organizations, such as the International Semiconductor Lighting Alliance (ISA), the Vietnam Lighting Association (VLA), the Vietnam Electricity Association, the Vietnam Automation Association (VAA), research institutions, and Vietnam's famous universities.
